  • Establishment of Sláintecare Implementation Advisory Council is a very important milestone in the implementation of Sláintecare – Minister Harris.

Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, speaking today (Wednesday) at the inaugural meeting of the Sláintecare Implementation Advisory Council, said that the establishment of the Council was a very important milestone in implementing Sláintecare. The Council will advise and support the Sláintecare Programme Office and the Chair of the Council, Dr Keane, on all aspects of the reform programme.

Addressing the newly appointed members of the Council, Minister Harris said:

“Today is a very important milestone in the implementation of Sláintecare. The Sláintecare Implementation Advisory Council, and its members, will play an important role in the success of this initiative.”

“The advice and leadership of members of this Council will be invaluable. Sláintecare will only succeed if everyone works together- politicians, the Department of Health, the HSE, staff at every level and the public.”

“Sláintecare is the only reform programme and we must get it right.”

Wishing the Council well, Minster Harris said:

“I am confident that under the Chairmanship of Dr Tom Keane the group will make a significant contribution to the reform of our health and social care services and I want to offer my support to him and the members.”
