Background
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has commenced the process of developing it’s new Statement of Strategy to cover the period 2025-2028.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s mission is to lead, enable and regulate the sector in a way that optimises its contribution to social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The priorities outlined in the Programme for Government, Securing Ireland’s Future will guide the development of the Department’s strategic vision, mission statement and goals for the upcoming period.
To assist the department in defining our strategic vision for the next three years, you are now invited to submit your views as to the issues or topics that should be focused on within the Statement of Strategy.
The Department’s current Statement of Strategy can be viewed at Statement of Strategy 2021-2024
How to make a submission
The closing date for submissions is 5.00pm Friday, 11 April 2025.

Publishing of responses
The department will carefully consider all comments and suggestions received and will publish a consultation response. Given the expected volume and the variety of comments, the department does not intend to respond to individual submissions but will group responses and provide an overall response to each consultation topic.
