Let’s Talk Trees - Nationwide Town Hall Meetings
Join Minister Healy-Rae to explore how forestry can support your land, your income, and your future. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Teagasc Forestry Development Department are hosting four free information events in October and November 2025. Each event is run over an evening and opens with two short presentations followed by a conversation between Minister Michael Healy-Rae and a farmer discussing their forestry journey. You will also get an opportunity to talk to professional forestry staff on a one-to-one about your interest in forestry. These events are FREE and open to all.
Adding Value to Your Farm

Are you interested in a complementary income stream for your farm?

- Afforestation grant and premium details;
- How Forestry complements other farm income support measures.

Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2025 - Launch Event
To launch Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2025, CAP Network Ireland, in collaboration with the Department, is hosting a conference titled ‘Agri-Bioeconomy Value Chains & Business Models in Ireland’
The conference will take place on Monday 13 October from 9.30am to 2.00pm at the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

All Island Bioeconomy Summit 2025
The All Island Bioeconomy Summit & Awards 2025 will take place at Johnstown Estate Hotel, Enfield, Co. Meath on Tuesday 13 May 2025. The event comes at a pivotal time for the bioeconomy, bringing together key stakeholders from across the island. Minister Heydon T.D. will give an opening address on the day. Farmer BISS Clinics 2025
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine are holding a series of in-person Farmer Clinics to assist farmers in making their applications online for the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) Scheme and other area-based schemes. Staff from the Department will provide one-to-one support to assist farmers to submit their scheme applications well in advance of the closing date of 15 May 2025. These clinics are particularly useful for farmers who do not have an FAS approved advisor to assist them with their application. See the 2025 dates, location and venues below.

Agricultural Climate Conference
A major national conference on climate change in agriculture will be held in Dublin Castle on Thursday, 05 June 2025. Key themes will include genetics and breeding, feed additives, other methane and nitrous oxide reducing technologies, carbon sequestration and storage, policy and market trends, and international perspectives in these areas.
Department of Agriculture at the National Ploughing Championships 2025
The Department looks forward to welcoming you to our stand in the Government Village at the National Ploughing Championships. The annual event will take place in Screggan, Tullamore Co Offaly on 16, 17, 18 September 2025. Support will be available from the Department on a wide range of topics including schemes, water, farmer safety, bio-diversity and bio-security.
