As Director of the Conflict Resolution Unit, my role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the work of the Unit and to contribute to the effective delivery of the Political Division Business plan. I coordinate the work of the Unit which involves oversight of Ireland’s second National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) through policy guidance and supervision of the Secretariat and participation on the WPS Oversight Group. I participate in a number of global networks and engage in lesson sharing and promoting these issues. My role also involves supporting Ireland’s engagement on conflict resolution, mediation and peacebuilding through coordinated and targeted engagement and advocacy for peacebuilding efforts at UN, EU and regional levels. In addition, I also sit on the secretariat for the Department’s Stability Fund and manage relationships with a number of civil society partners which receive funding through the fund for conflict prevention and peacebuilding programmes.
