Dermot Mulligan has the assigned responsibility at Assistant Secretary level for policy and legislation in relation to industrial relations, economic migration (including employment permits) & health & safety in the workplace.
Dermot has Departmental responsibility for the delivery of positive workplace relations, robust enforcement of employment rights and well-functioning dispute resolution mechanisms including Construction Contracts Adjudication Services.
Dermot also has Departmental responsibility for engagement with the industrial relations bodies under the aegis of the Department (Labour Court/ WRC) and the Health & Safety Authority, and for coordination and liaison with the International Labour Organisation.
