Permit for mobile crane / hoist / cherry picker

A permit is required for the placement of a mobile crane/hoist/cherry picker on a public road or footpath that is maintained by Galway City Council.

If you wish to use a crane/hoist/cherry picker on a public road or footpath, you must complete an application form.

The completed application form should be returned to the Roads Section, at the above address, by post, fax or in person to the public counter (9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday).

Please ensure that the application form is accompanied with all the necessary documentation, as outlined on the application form, and the appropriate fee.
