Donegal County Council proposes to build a new footbridge adjacent to and downstream of the Sessiaghoneill road bridge on the LP-3054 which will improve the pedestrian and cycle routes between Ballybofey town centre and the Sessiagh (O’Neill) town suburb.
The project will be carried out in accordance with the drawings and will include:
a) The proposed footbridge super structure will be a single span steel space truss structure.
b) The footbridge will have a 17.2m clear span between the abutment supports.
c) The footbridge will be 3.3m wide and will carry a 3m wide shared pedestrian / cycleway across the Burn Daurnett River.
d) Aluminium alloy or steel galvanised 1.5m high parapets with mesh infill along both sides of the bridge deck.
e) Construction of 10m footway on the southern approach to the bridge and 62m of footway on the northern approach to connect into the existing pedestrian infrastructure.
f) Upgrade of the existing street lighting to facilities the new footbridge and footways.
Waste material arising from the site will be reused within the works where appropriate, unsuitable materials will be removed to a licensed waste facility.
