On the [ ] the Applicant was out with some friends at around 11.20pm when they passed a group of five people who started to call out at them as they passed by and then approached one of the Applicant’s friends and started a fight. The Applicant then was hit with glass by one of the assailants and he started profusely bleeding. The Applicant submitted that the last thing he remembered was being cut out of his clothes and being asked what blood group he was. As a result of the incident the Applicant’s [ ] and he required [ ]. The Applicant attended [ ] Hospital as a result of the incident where he received inpatient treatment from the [ ] to the [ ]. The Applicant submitted that he was not working at the time of the incident.
By letter dated the [ ] the Applicant was requested to forward a copy of his P45 from his previous employer. By letter dated the [ ] the Applicant was requested to submit any documentation including original receipts and vouching documentation in respect of out-of-pocket expenses arising from his personal injuries. The letter provided that should the Applicant not submit any further information the file would be sent to a member for a decision on or after the [ ]. The Applicant did not respond to the said correspondence. In circumstances where there is no evidence that the Applicant suffered special damages as a result of the personal injuries no award is made in this instance.
