The OGP has led on the development of the GPP Criteria Search which is available at GPPCriteria.gov.ie
The online search tool allows users to rapidly find, select and download Green Public Procurement (GPP) criteria relevant to a specific procurement project. GPP is a process where public authorities seek to source goods, services or works with a reduced environmental impact.
To support better GPP, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published updated GPP Criteria for ten sectors along with Green Public Procurement Guidance for the Public Sector in September 2021. The online search tool will facilitate the use of these criteria in a user-friendly and efficient way.
The search tool was developed in in collaboration with the EPA and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, with support from the Public Service Innovation Fund .
A range of different stakeholders fed into the development of GPPCriteria.gov.ie to ensure that the tool facilitates green public procurement across the public sector.
The full press release is available here.

The current Programme for Government includes a number of commitments relating to public procurement, including the development and implementation of a sustainable procurement policy, updating all frameworks in line with green procurement practice, and mandating the inclusion of green criteria in all procurements using public funds.
