Secretariat:
The review of the Planning and Development Act 2000 concluded with the publication of the draft Planning and Development Bill 2022 in January 2023.
Since then a comprehensive pre-legislative scrutiny has been undertaken by the Joint Oireachtas Committee. We have considered the submissions of a large volume of stakeholders (many of whom are members of the Planning Advisory Forum) as we work with the Attorney General’s Office and Office of Parliamentary Counsel to refine the stamped Bill for publication.
The final Bill is expected to proceed to the Dáil after the summer recess.
