1. On [ ] the applicant was socialising in the [ ] when a gunman entered the premises and shot the applicant in the back The applicant was brought to hospital by ambulance where he received treatment. The gardai attended the scene and a criminal investigation took place. No prosecution has been taken in respect of the incident.
2. The tribunal has had no contact from the applicant or his solicitor since a letter from the applicant's solicitor dated [ ] enquiring as to the status of the application. The tribunal had also sent a letter dated [ ] to the applicant's solicitor requesting certain information. The tribunal did not receive a response to that letter.
3. On [ ] the tribunal wrote to the applicant's solicitor enquiring as to whether the application was being pursued. The tribunal received no response to this letter.
4. The applicant's application to the tribunal is limited to the application form. No receipts or medical reports have been submitted in support of the claim.
5. Paragraph 11 of the Scheme provides "no compensation will be payable to an applicant who has not, in the opinion of the tribunal, given the tribunal all reasonable assistance, in relation to any medical report that it may require, and otherwise."
6. I am not satisfied that the applicant has provided all reasonable assistance to the tribunal. There are no medical reports or receipts on file from which the claim can be assessed. It is for the applicant to establish his case and this has not been done. I make no award.
