The Department recruits staff through the Public Appointments Service website , Civil Service Mobility and occasionally in conjunction with external recruitment agencies for direct recruitment.
The Director of the Guardian ad litem National Service is permanent position with responsibility for the set-up, leadership and management of the Guardian ad litem National Service and related commencement of the Child Care (Amendment) Act 2022.
The principal aim of the GAL national service will be to realise the rights of the child through providing a high quality, standardised service to all children and young people in Ireland who are the subject of public child care proceedings.
The Executive Office will be established initially within DCEDIY, however, the location of the office may be subject to change in line with any future change in Government policy.
Applications are sought from dynamic and innovative individuals who are passionate about improving the lives of children in Ireland by ensuring the voice and best interests of children are always at the heart of public child care proceedings.
