The main Government Departments and Agencies involved in carrying out and supporting climate research and innovation are set out below.
These bodies are part of Government Departments or Agencies, for example, Met Éireann, Irish Research Council, or are statutory agencies under the aegis of a Department such as the Environmental Protection Agency.

Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science | Responsible for national research and innovation policy. Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage | Undertakes and funds a range of climate relevant research programmes in the areas of construction innovation, weather and climate modelling, climate services, climate monitoring, biodiversity and water.
