1. On [ ] the applicant was shot in the neck. The applicant was treated in hospital and in the [ ] Centre.
2. The matter was reported to the gardaí and there is a report on file. No criminal prosecution took place in relation to the shooting.
3. The applicant initially engaged the services of a solicitor. On [ ] the applicant’s solicitor wrote to the tribunal and indicated that they were no longer representing the applicant.
4. The tribunal wrote directly to the applicant enquiring as to whether he wishes to pursue his application however no response has been received.
5. There are no medical reports or out of pocket expenses on file in relation to this matter.
6. Paragraph 11 of the Scheme provides “no compensation will be payable to an applicant who has not, in the opinion of the tribunal, given the tribunal all reasonable assistance, in relation to any medical report, and otherwise.”
7. The applicant has not responded to correspondence from the tribunal and there is no information on the file from which the claim can be assessed. I am of the opinion that all reasonable assistance has not been provided. I make no award.
