The Applicant was working in [ ] in [ ] when he was assaulted by men whom he had refused entry. As a result of the incident the Applicant required inpatient treatment from [ ] and outpatient treatment on the [ ]. The Applicant attended his GP, Dr. [ ], and also his dentist Dr. [ ]. The Applicant submitted that he incurred expenses as a result of travelling to hospital where he has made four trips of 60 kilometres. He also submitted that he incurred losses of €120 in respect of his clothing. The Applicant submitted that he lost €960 in earnings as a result of not being able to complete his shifts in the pub after the incident. The Tribunal wrote to the Applicant on the [ ] and requested a copy of the Applicant’s P60 and a statement from the Department of Social Welfare showing any benefit that was paid as a result of his injuries. No response was received to that letter. The Tribunal wrote to the Applicant on the [ ] and requested original receipts in respect of the claim. No response was received to that letter. On the [ ] the Tribunal wrote to the Applicant and informed the Applicant that should it not hear back from him by [ ] the claim would be sent to a Tribunal member for a decision. The Tribunal did not receive a response to its correspondence, and no original receipts were received from the Applicant in respect of his claim. In the circumstances the Tribunal makes no award in this instance.
