Using Bullet Points on gov.ie

When creating a bulleted list, you must:

• make bullets short wherever possible– not more than a few words long
• start bullets with a lower-case letter and end without a full-stop
• start bullets with the same part of speech (like a noun or verb)
• have an introduction sentence which finishes with a colon

Do not:

• put ‘and’ or ‘or’ at the end of a bullet
• start all bullets with the same word – it’s hard to read
• use numbered (or Roman numeral) lists
