The OGP have produced a short checklist and brief instruction to support contracting authorities when publishing competition notices on eTenders. This short accessible guidance has benefits for users and policy makers and supports the return of consistent and accurate information via eTenders.
Across Government, there is a growing focus on using data to support decision making, shape public policy and deliver services. eTenders is a central facility for all public sector contracting authorities to advertise procurement opportunities and publish award notices, and as such, is an important source of data.
Contracting authorities play an important part in ensuring eTenders data is high quality and capable of informing decision making and policy formation. The data is used to support analysis of tendering activity across the public sector, which the Office of Government Procurement conducts on behalf of the State.
Applying the top tips provided for in this new guidance will help improve the quality of the information input into eTenders. You will see that many of the checklist entries must be completed so as to progress through the platform. This guidance has been developed to help you select the right option and to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the information provided, much of which must be provided in competition notices including contract notices and contract award notices. Contracting authorities are legally obliged to publish these notices for all above threshold competitions.
