The Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform with responsibility for Public Procurement and eGovernment, Ossian Smyth, welcomed the announcement that the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) has been certified as a Great Place to Work.
The Great Place to Work Certification Programme is a three-year framework, designed to build and sustain a high-performance culture in an organisation. The accreditation process is based on direct feedback, provided by an extensive survey covering five themes: credibility, respect, pride, camaraderie and fairness.
There are a number of standout statistics from the OGP’s Great Place to Work results, including:
- 90% of OGP employees have been offered training or development to further themselves professionally
- 80% of OGP employees agree that the organisation is a friendly place to work
- 73% of OGP employees feel a sense of pride at what the organisation accomplishes
Minister Smyth said:
"I am delighted to congratulate the OGP in achieving this certification. It is a fantastic achievement and indicative of a culture of trust and recognition in which all OGP employees are encouraged to participate. I am looking forward to meeting and engaging with more OGP employees across the country over the coming months."
CEO of the OGP Paul Quinn also welcomed the announcement:
"Our people are the power behind our organisation and we are thrilled to have received the Great Place to Work certification, following a three year process led by our People and Culture team. Our culture is one of empowerment, growth, and development, demonstrated in the positive statistics received. We look forward to going even further and working with our people to make our workplace one where people feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to do their best work for the Irish public."
The OGP has been certified as a Great Place to Work from December 2021 to December 2022.
