Department of the Taoiseach Climate Action Roadmap 2023

Operating under the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 and the Climate Action Plan 2021, the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate requires public sector bodies to show leadership in climate action by taking, and reporting on, the actions set out in the Mandate.

This requires public sector bodies to put in place a Climate Action Roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 51% by 2030 and increase the improvement in energy efficiency from the 33% target in 2020 to 50% by 2030.

This first iteration of the Climate Action Roadmap for the Department of the Taoiseach has been developed with the support and guidance of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). It sets out an analysis of the 2030 GHG target and current gap to target from the baseline. It also identifies current and planned actions to bridge that gap between now and 2030.
