  • Furniture Restoration Demonstration from OPW craftspeople and apprentices
  • OPW Stonemasons, Stonecutters and apprentices will demonstrate examples of their work and methods
  • OPW and Heritage Ireland will be offering an exciting 360 virtual reality experience for visitors.

Nature and Heritage Marquee - Stand 339

  • Live Natterjack toad exhibit in conjunction with Fota Wildlife Park.
  • Bog in a box – an interactive display showing the composition of a typical Irish bog
  • Taxidermy display showcasing the different types of fauna native to the Irish landscape.
  • Devinish will be promoting the Heartland research project using video display, leaflets, and soil samples
  • Meet and Speak to Park Rangers
  • Learn about our National Parks, schemes to protect natures, EU LIFE schemes and Farm plan schemes

‘iSandbox’ uses augmented reality technology to teach children about the weather in an interactive and fun way.

  • Met Éireann staff will be on hand to chat to the public about meteorology and what Ireland’s climate might look like in the future.
  • Craftsmen will use traditional building techniques to install a vernacular furniture display over the course of the championships.
  • Irish Georgian Society offering advice on improving energy efficiency in historic buildings.
  • National Monuments Service - An interactive archaeological dig to demonstrate the techniques used when uncovering skeletal remains.
  • Heritage Council - interactive display of archaeological items
  • Check the Register - Staff from a variety of County councils will be on hand to help members of the public check the electoral register in order to add or update their voter details.

  • Try your hand and test your skills with a virtual welder, virtual 3D printer, Vortex Training Simulator and virtual retrofitting.
  • Understand more about the future of construction, innovation and skills through interactive demonstrations from the National Construction Centre, Mount Lucas and the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE) (LMETB) Dundalk.
  • Information sharing on housing supports to buy, rent or refurbish a home.
