Publication of the Report of the Commission of Investigation NAMA on the sale by NAMA of its Northern Ireland portfolio

Following a government meeting the Taoiseach has published the report of the NAMA Commission of Investigation in relation to the sale by NAMA of its Northern Ireland portfolio, known as Project Eagle.
The Commission’s report was published and laid before the Oireachtas by the Taoiseach as specified Minister in accordance with the Commission of Investigation Act, 2004.
The Commission was established in June 2017 following consultations with Oireachtas representatives and resolutions made by the Dáil and Seanad.
The Commission’s report considers the matters coming within its terms of reference in relation to NAMA’s sale of its Project Eagle portfolio in a comprehensive manner. It goes through all aspects of the transaction in detail and makes a number of findings and conclusions.
The Taoiseach also informed Government that that he intends refer the recommendations made by the Commission in the report for consideration as appropriate by the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Services and Reform and the Minister for Justice.
The Commission’s investigation is now complete other than finalising awards of costs payable to witnesses who appeared before it. The Commission expects to complete this work before the end of April 2025.
