In October 2015, Meath County Council adopted a Temporary / Event Signage Policy as part of the Litter Management Plan.
Applications for signage for local events are dealt with by the Environment Department
Application for Signage for Non Commercial Events on Public Roads
Commercial signage on roadside is not allowed and is an offence under S19 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997 and will be subject to prosecution. Anyone wishing to advertise their business should do so by traditional media methods, and/or use social media.

Applications for Community Text Alert signs should be made using the following form. Signs and poles must comply with all relevant standards and be in accordance with Muintir na Tire Guidelines.
Application to erect Community Text Alert Signs on Public Roads
Signs / Advertisements on roadside behind walls is a matter for the Planning Department, as is permanent signage on lands, e.g. a large hoarding that becomes a structure on a site / change of shop name to front of a shop. Any such signage erected without permission may be subject to prosecution by the Planning Department.
Section 254 licence applications for Outdoor Dining are not subject to fees for 2022. Applications should be made using the following form and returning the completed form to Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath, C15 Y291 or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie along with the additional required information listed on the form.

Skip licence applications should be made by completing the following form and returning it to the Transportation Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath C15 Y291 or by email to transport@meathcoco.ie with 4 working days notice.
Please note that no fee will be requested until the application is approved in principal.
A skip licence fee is currently €30 per parking space per day.
