Facts/brief background
1. [ ] (‘the applicant’) has made a claim for compensation under the Scheme of Compensation for Personal Injuries Criminally Inflicted (‘the Scheme’).
2. On the [ ], the applicant was assaulted outside his home by a group of [ ] people. He sustained facial injuries, bruising to his body and dental injuries.
3. The applicant received an interim payment for dental treatment from the Tribunal in the sum of £3,320 punts on [ ]. A contingency fund of £21,000 punts was set aside by the Tribunal to cater for for any future cost of dental implants required by the applicant. The fees were to be discharged from the contingency fund by the Tribunal on receipt of invoices for the applicant’s dental treatment. The Tribunal subsequently issued a further payment for dental treatment obtained by the applicant on the [ ] in the sum of €4,362.53.
Decision
4. It is now over [ ] years since the last request for payment and the last payment issued to the applicant. No further vouchers have been provided in respect of dental implants obtained by the applicant. Therefore, the Tribunal closes this file and finalises the award to the applicant in the sum of €8,578.05 (€4,362.53 + €4,215.53 – euro conversion of £3,320), as previously awarded to the applicant.
