On the [ ] the Applicant was in the toilets of [ ] Public House, [ ] when a Mr [ ] walked over and struck him on the nose. The Applicant fell and was kicked by the perpetrator when he was on the ground. The Applicant attended the Accident & Emergency Department [ ] Hospital in [ ] where he received inpatient treatment until the [ ]. The Department of Social Welfare informed the Tribunal that the Applicant had received social welfare from the [ ] to the [ ] in the sum of €534.60. The Applicant in his application form stated that he was earning €260 per week at the time and calculates that his net losses are €570 for three weeks including the social welfare received. In addition the Applicant submits that he spent €15.74 on medicine together with another prescription of €17 and also spent €33 on the hospital in [ ]. The Applicant did not submit any receipts in respect of medicine and hospital bills. The Tribunal awards €635.74 to the Applicant in respect of his claim.
