On the [ ] the Applicant was stabbed in the back and once in the chest in [ ]. The Applicant had a ruptured spleen and diaphragm and lost a substantial amount of blood from the stab wound to the chest. His condition at one stage was considered critical and he received emergency surgery and had his spleen removed. Pursuant to the terms of the Scheme, the Tribunal may compensate a victim of crime for special damages sustained as a result of personal injuries sustained. In the instant case no vouchers were submitted evidencing special damages arising from the personal injuries suffered by the Applicant. In the circumstances the Tribunal makes no award.
