Facts/brief background

1. Mr. [ ] ('the Applicant') has made a claim for compensation under the Scheme of Compensation for Personal Injuries Criminally Inflicted ('the Scheme').

2. The application arises pursuant to an incident which occurred on the [ ] at [ ]. The Offender is unknown.

3. In his application to the Tribunal the Applicant states he was assaulted and suffered dental injuries, broken jaw and [ ] broken teeth.


Eligibility

4. Following receipt of his application from his solicitors [ ] Solicitors a partially completed application form was placed with a signed and completed application form on the [ ].

5. Thereafter, the Tribunal wrote on the [ ] requesting copies of the Applicant's P60s, a statement from the Department of Social Protection and any information or receipts which the Applicant held in respect of the matter. No response was received thereto. Further correspondence was issued to the said legal representatives on the [ ]. A response was received thereto on the [ ], from [ ] Solicitors noting receipt of the Tribunal's correspondence and advising that they no longer acted for the Applicant. They do state in that correspondence that they had passed a copy of the said correspondence to the Applicant and he had been asked to contact the Tribunal directly. Thereafter, the Tribunal wrote to directly to the Applicant on the [ ], no response was received to this correspondence. Finally, on the [ ] the Tribunal again wrote to the Applicant and no response was received to this correspondence.


Decision

6. In the absence of the provision of sufficient information by the Applicant in this case no award is made pursuant to paragraph 10 of the Scheme.
