- The Family Justice Strategy 2022 – 2025 outlines the steps needed to create a more efficient and user-friendly family court system that puts the family and children at the centre of its work.
- The Social Welfare and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 was enacted to reform child maintenance system, excluding payments from all social welfare means tests.
- The Review of the Enforcement of Child Maintenance Orders was published in January 2024, containing 26 recommendations to improve the current system.
- The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, launched a public survey in April 2025 to help inform the development of new voluntary guidelines related to the payment of child maintenance.
