On the [ ] the Applicant was struck on the back of the head by a male while he was getting into his car. The Applicant fell against the door of the car causing a cut above his lip. The Applicant did not attend hospital and did not receive any immediate medical treatment in respect of the incident. No compensation in respect of the incident was paid to the Applicant. The incident was reported to the Gardaí immediately. The Applicant’s application form stated that he was unemployed on the date of the incident. Pursuant to the terms of the Scheme the Tribunal awards compensation for pecuniary loss incurred as a result of damages sustained from a crime of violence. In this instance no evidence has been submitted to the Tribunal that the Applicant suffered any pecuniary loss as a result of the incident. In the circumstances the Tribunal makes no award.
